The Brotherhood of the Glorious Apostles Peter and Paul, based at the Monastery of St Antony and St Cuthbert, were deeply humbled at the friendship and generosity of all those who attended our first Activity Week. Thank you all for your hard work and your warm company; in spite of our damp and cold surroundings hearts were warmed by our fellowship.
When the brothers moved into the monastery at the beginning of October 2018, we found the fabric of the building in desperate need of repair and maintenance. Paths were covered with soil and grass, conduits were blocked creating saturated ground next to the main house, gutters were clogged, grim and dirt was endemic. With the consistent hard work of our visitors the monastery is already transformed!
Most of all, we all enjoyed the company of each other. The week was hard work, but above all it was fun.
All of our visitors during our Activity Week have earned the right to called ‘co-founders’ of our monastic community. You are part of us, and we look forward to welcoming you here again at the monastery very soon…
